- Per a recent report by Amnesty International – “Not a Private Matter”, on the hidden but escalating problem of domestic and sexual violence against women in eastern Ukraine, survivors of domestic violence in eastern Ukraine are not able to seek protection for violence against them due to the government’s ineffective response.

- The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) has released a briefing paper raising serious concerns about India’s Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act (FCRA), arguing that the law is “unlawfully obstructing the critical work of non-governmental organisations”.
- At least 42 people have died and 20 others are missing after Typhoon Vamco made landfall in the Philippines, flooding the largest island, Luzon which caused landslides, cut off roads and forced many to flee their homes wherein tens of thousands of people have sought shelter in evacuation centres, including in the capital Manila. The typhoon, known locally as Ulysses, is the 21st storm to hit the country this year.

- Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia said they have signed a deal to end the military conflict over the Nagorno–Karabakh region after more than a month of bloodshed wherein Russian peacekeepers would be deployed along the frontline in Nagorno–Karabakh and the corridor between the region and Armenia.
- Angolan police used live bullets, teargas, and dogs to disperse a peaceful anti-government protest, killing one protester, in the capital, Luanda, and severely beat the well-known activists Nito Alves and Laurinda Goveia, who are both in critical condition, and arbitrarily arrested a third activist, Luaty Beirao.

- Amnesty International has confirmed the veracity of material showing the excessive and unnecessary use of force by the National Police in the demonstrations related to the political crisis that has gripped Peru. According to the information received, more than 15 people have been injured, at least three of them seriously wounded by firearms, since 10 November 2020, mostly in the massive protests that took place in several cities across the country.

- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported yet another devastating shipwreck in the Central Mediterranean, which has claimed the lives of at least 74 migrants off the coast of Khums, Libya. It is the eighth such incident since the beginning of October.
- Per a recent joint report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Measles killed an estimated 207,500 people last year after a decade-long failure to reach optimal vaccination coverage, resulting in the highest number of cases for 23 years.
