While we are comfortable talking about women rights and dalit rights but our community is still not very open to talk about Transgender rights. The transgender community India is one of the most marginalised be it socially, economically or politically.

The Transgender (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 is though a good first step, the quest for justice is far from over. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment came up with Transgender Rules 2019 and invited public comments on the same.

The Contego Humanitas team reached out to the community to better understand their plight. Accordingly we suggested certain amendments in the Transgender Rules to ensure that the transgender community is not denied access to justice.
